Steeltech Universal Primers are heavy duty, highly versatile, alkyd primers for use on structural steel and other ferrous metal substrates in a wide variety of industrial environments. As a primer, they may be topcoated with high performance coatings containing strong solvents such as epoxies and urethanes.

Steeltech Universal Primers may also be used as a tie-coat or barrier coat between existing alkyd coatings and epoxy or urethane topcoats without lifting the old coating. This enables for old alkyd coating systems to be upgraded to higher performance coating systems.
