Steeltech Rust Inhibitive Metal Primers are heavy duty, high quality, alkyd primers for priming structural steel, miscellaneous fabricated metal parts, and other ferrous metal substrates. The high volume solids produces increased coverage rates and one coat application. One 2.5 mil thick coat will protect a steel substrate for up to 6 months prior to topcoating or enclosing the structure.
Steeltech Rust Inhibitive Metal Primers are rust inhibitive, providing superior corrosion protection for capital structures, even in marine environments. In addition, these primers have been tested by independent laboratories and found to produce excellent adhesion for mineral fiber fire proofing products.
Steeltech Rust Inhibitive Metal Primers, S4556 and S4551, may be welded-through during erection to produce sound welds. They are formulated without the use of lead or chromate pigments, and meet or exceed the performance requirements of TT-P-636. Both colors are VOC compliant below 3.5 lbs./gal. (420g/l).
